Refund Policy

1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and subscription changes work for Loma. By subscribing to our Service, you agree to this policy.

2. Free Trial Period

2.1 Trial Duration

New subscribers are eligible for a 7-day free trial period on all subscription plans (Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly).

2.2 No Charge During Trial

You will NOT be charged if you cancel before your free trial ends. We will send a reminder email before your trial expires.

2.3 Trial to Paid Subscription

If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically begin, and your payment method will be charged the applicable subscription fee. Continued use after the trial period constitutes acceptance of charges.

2.4 Trial Eligibility

Free trials are available once per user. Users who have previously subscribed or used a trial are not eligible for additional free trials.

3. Subscription Cancellation

3.1 How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time by:

  • Going to Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription → Cancel in the app
  • Following the cancellation link in your subscription confirmation email
  • Visiting our Help Center

3.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect

Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain full access to the Service until that date. You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods.

3.3 Access After Cancellation

After cancellation:

  • Saved Recipes: You can continue to view all previously generated recipes indefinitely
  • New Recipe Generation: You cannot generate NEW recipes without an active subscription or Munchies
  • Progress Data: Your progress stats, streaks, and achievements are preserved
  • Account: Your account remains active but in a "free" state

4. Refund Policy

4.1 No Partial Refunds

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, you will not receive a prorated refund for unused time. However, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.

4.2 Munchie Refunds

Munchies are non-refundable once used. We cannot provide refunds for:

  • Recipes you generated but did not like
  • Unused Munchies remaining in your account at cancellation
  • Munchies used to generate recipes you chose not to cook

This policy exists because recipe generation incurs real costs through our AI provider, and the service was successfully delivered when the recipe was created.

4.3 Exception: Technical Failures

If you experience a technical failure where:

  • A Munchie was deducted but no recipe was generated
  • The app crashed during generation and the recipe was lost
  • A recipe generated is completely unusable (missing ingredients, instructions, etc.)

We will credit your account with replacement Munchies. Please contact us through our Help Center immediately with details of the issue.

4.4 Billing Errors

If you believe you were charged in error (e.g., double-charged, charged after cancellation), please contact us through our Help Center within 30 days. We will investigate and issue a refund if appropriate.

4.5 Fraudulent Activity

If we detect fraudulent activity on your account, we reserve the right to:

  • Immediately suspend or terminate your account
  • Deny refund requests
  • Report the activity to appropriate authorities
  • Pursue legal action if necessary

5. Subscription Changes

5.1 Upgrading Your Plan

If you upgrade to a higher-tier plan (e.g., Weekly to Monthly, or Monthly to Yearly):

  • The upgrade takes effect immediately
  • You receive the new plan's Munchie allocation immediately
  • You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period
  • Your next billing date will be based on the new plan's cycle

5.2 Downgrading Your Plan

If you downgrade to a lower-tier plan (e.g., Yearly to Monthly, or Monthly to Weekly):

  • The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period
  • No refund is provided for the difference
  • You retain your current plan's benefits until the downgrade takes effect
  • Your new plan's Munchie allocation begins after the downgrade

5.3 Reactivating After Cancellation

If you reactivate a cancelled subscription:

  • You can select any available plan
  • A new billing period begins immediately
  • You may not be eligible for a new free trial (one trial per user)
  • All your saved recipes and progress data are restored

6. Payment Issues

6.1 Failed Payments

If your payment fails (e.g., expired card, insufficient funds):

  • We will notify you via email
  • We will retry the payment up to 3 times over 10 days
  • Your access may be temporarily suspended during this period
  • If payment continues to fail, your subscription will be cancelled

6.2 Updating Payment Information

You can update your payment method at any time through Settings → Subscription → Payment Method. We recommend keeping your payment information current to avoid service interruptions.

7. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. However:

  • We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice before any price increase
  • Price changes take effect at your next billing cycle
  • You will have the opportunity to cancel before the price increase takes effect
  • If you do not cancel, continued use constitutes acceptance of the new price

8. Account Deletion

If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data:

  • First cancel your subscription (if active)
  • Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
  • Confirm the deletion (this action is irreversible)

Account deletion will:

  • Permanently delete all your recipes, progress data, and account information
  • Cannot be undone - you will lose all saved content
  • Take effect within 30 days
  • Not entitle you to any refunds for unused subscription time

9. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company:

  • Your account will be immediately suspended pending resolution
  • We encourage you to contact us through our Help Center first to resolve billing issues
  • Fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent account termination
  • We reserve the right to pursue legal action for fraudulent disputes

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via:

  • Email notification to your registered email address
  • In-app notification
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page

We will provide at least 30 days' notice before implementing changes that materially affect your rights. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
